One of my goals this summer
is to read at least ten books. I'm already doing pretty good on that list as I'm currently on the fourth (add me on Goodreads
!). Here's 10 (some I have read and some that are must-reads) on my summer reading list:
Psychos by Babe Walker
: This is the book I am currently reading and if you read White Girl Problems and are a fan of the Cohen brothers, you will love this one as well. Pure satirical genius.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
: I have had this sitting on my bookshelf to read for more than a year now and I haven't gotten to it yet. I loved the movie and have heard the book is amazing.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
: It took me about 1/3 of the way into this book to get into it and then I was hooked. As in, I couldn't put it down and finished it in one night. It's one of those books that makes you go 'wow' at the end and to think about life and your own accomplishments.
Living In Style by Rachel Zoe
: Love her or hate her you have to admit this woman has style and knows whats up in the world of fashion. I have a feeling I'll be taking notes on style tips when reading this.
#Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso
: Another icon in the fashion world is the NastyGal creator, whose success didn't come easy, well, maybe once she got over the dumster diving it did. She spoke at this spring's Lucky FABB event and is such an inspiration. Definitely a must-read!
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
: It may be YA fiction but this book was fantastic, another one I couldn't put down. It brought back memories to those high-school days when you first started dating and liking someone. I have a few other Rainbow Rowell books on my list.
The Vactioners by Emma Straub:
I keep seeing this pop up on other summer book lists, sounds like a good beach/vacation read.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
: I know, I know. How have I NOT read this yet? Or seen the movie... ooops. I'm lagging on getting to this one but I'll pick it up and read it soon!
The One and Only by Emily Giffin
: I am a huge fan of Emily Giffin books, and am excited to delve in to this one.
The Group by Mary McCarthy
: I started reading this but a few books came in from the library that I couldn't wait to read so it got put back on the shelf for the time being. Hailed as the Sex & The City of the 1930's it follows the lives of several Vassar women.
I'm always open to book recommendations. What books are on your summer reading list?
