Last weekend I was invited to attend Gap's Styled.By
preview event at the South Coast Plaza. Two other bloggers showed up so we were treated to an exclusive morning of trying on Gap's new fall denim collection. We had the entire stores to ourselves to check out the new collection, learn more about the different styles, fits and fabrics.
I have never been much of a Gap shopper-- I never thought their styles were for me, they came across as more mature and honestly, too preppy for my taste. Not a bad thing, just not for me. Since attending this event, I have done a complete 180-- it looks like Gap is trying to market to a younger, hip demographic and I think they nailed it with their 1969 denim collection. Read on to find out more and to check out more pictures from the preview!
Absolutely loved Gap's black denim
Always Skinny and Always Skinny Skimmer styles-- deim ranged from true black, to faded black, gray, and coated black denim.
As bloggers, we had the opportunity to style our own mannequins with anything from the store. I have never worked retail so I thought it was such a cool experience! For my Gap look, I have been on a menswear-inspired kicks so I created a layered fall style with a feminine vibe-- light-wash boyfriend jeans, a simple white tee, a gray and pink plaid button-down (the pictures don't do it justice-- luckily I HAD to have it myself so you'll see it in an outfit post soon :p) and a gorgeous soft pink patterned sweater.

All three of the blogger created looks-- love them all!
A few of the different 1969 jeans I tried on-- Always Skinny, Sexy Boyfriend and the Always Skinny Skimmers. Which one did I take home?
... I had to have two pairs of the Always Skinny Skimmers-- in the faded black and a true black. They are comfy, a fabulous fit and look amazing. Gap made a true fan out of me!
