Happy New Year's Eve eve! I can't believe this is my last Good HUES-Day post of 2014... this year has seriously flown by. Whether you have plans or not, be sure to add a little sparkle to your New Year's Eve celebration!
Ah! Can you believe 2014 is already coming to an end? It's crazy that we'll be heading into January 2015 in just a few short days. To help celebrate the New Year, I put together one last look for 2014 for A Good Hue, complete with a sparkly skirt and shimmery eye makeup! This is simple and cute look that will take you straight into the New Year.
It's always fun to add some holiday spirit to your outfit and one of the most popular ways to do so is with an ugly holiday sweater. If you're not up for looking so tacky, try one of these adorably festive sweaters!
When I visit the Disneyland Resort, one of my favorite places to visit is Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar, especially during the holidays. The cute lil tiki bar is decked out-- complete with kitchy holiday-themed tiki decor, a snow covered volcano and festive rum drinks. One of my favorite cocktails there is the Red Nosed Zebra-- here is my version below made with Caliche Rum.
Santa's Strawberry Sipper
1.5 oz. Caliche Rum
1 oz. Strawberry Puree
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Agave Nectar
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into glasses filled with crushed ice and garnish if desired (cranberries, strawberries, sprig of mint or even rosemary).
It's the last shopping weekend before Christmas and hopefully you're not like me and heading out for last-minute gifts. If so (glad I'm not alone!), don't forget about the stocking stuffers! Above are a few ideas perfect for stuffing into stockings, many of which can be found in stores.. including ones for him!
My favorite way to stay on budget? Sample sales! I picked up this shirt last month at the Shop Ruche/ Threadsence sample sale for just $7. Before that I picked up a cute triangle necklace (and a few pairs of shoes!) at the Sole Society sample sale for just $3. When I'm out shopping I'm always on the lookout for cute, inexpensive items. Looking good doesn't have to break the bank. I picked up this hat a few weeks ago on sale from Tilly's for $10 and the mood ring I've been wearing on the daily was just $3 at Forever 21. I love great... and inexpensive... finds!
Have you come across any great holiday budget finds? Share!
Remember this red coat from a couple weeks ago? Well it's making an appearance again today over this fabulous colorblock shift dress from the photo shoot with Sherry Lou Studio! I am smitten over the colorblocking in this dress-- the navy and burnt orange play well with each other and the accessories give it great character. Speaking of character, I had such a great time posing with my homie Bailey-- she has such a bubbly and fun personality, we always have a good time! Not to mention, she has amazing style herself-- I keep pressuring her to keep up with blogging-- you can check her out at Poprocks & Peacoats. Maybe give her a nudge of extra support?
Hope you didn't read the title as 'Feeling Shitty' -- it's been a long week but not that bad :P
Finding gifts for the gals in my life has always been easy--- I can always find something pretty, cute, and/or cool that would make a great gift. Any of these would make great presents for girlfriends, sisters, even mom!
True story, I almost returned this skirt. I didn't really need it and wasn't really sure what to wear it with. Luckily I decided to hold onto it and thought it would look cute paired with a simple sweatshirt. This isn't just any sweatshirt though-- it's super soft, lightweight and more shaped. Definitely not the sweatshirts I wore back in the '90s as a kid. #ThrowbackThursday
