Makeup Monday: Amy Nadine Renewing Nude Eye Shadow Palette

Amy Nadine Eye Shdaow Palette Review

While some gals are planning their Thanksgiving and holiday outfits, I've been busy trying to figure out my makeup looks for these occasions. Do I want to go shimmery or matte? Smoky or colorful? How can I get my lashes out-to-there and my lipstick to stay off my teeth while I'm sipping on festive cocktails? On of my go-to sites for good beauty advice and ideas is The Beauty Department, where makeup artist Amy Nadine. who works with Lauren Conrad and Rachel Bilson (hello girl crushes!), never leads me astray.

Last month, I was excited to see her announce that she was launching her own cosmetics line, exclusively at Costco, with the first product released being the Amy Nadine Renewing Nude Eye Shadow Palette. Keep reading below for my review and a look using the palette:

The palette contains four gorgeous neutral shades that I think are so on-trend for fall: Mineral, Teak, Carat, and Copper. The shadows are formulated with good-for-your-skin ingredients-- hence the 'renewing' claim-- such as bamboo silk, bilberry seed oil, red raspberry seed and clover flower extract. I don't know about you, but I tend to go for products that serve more than one purpose-- gorgeous eye shades and skin care benefits The result is a silky smooth, velvety soft shadow with just the right pigmentation for a pretty, neutral look.

Three of the shades (Teak, Carat and Copper) are shimmery but not overly so that they look glittery. The colors look absolutely gorgeous with the shimmer catches the light. The lightest shade, Mineral, is more of a creamy matte, perfect for using as a browbone or inner corner highlight.

Normally a palette of this quality runs upwards of $30, but this one is just $15.99... a total steal! Can we also take a minute to appreciate the packaging? The palette itself is this beautiful coppery rose gold shade-- so sleek and sophisticated. I can't wait to see what else Amy develops for this line in 2016!

This is definitely a nude eye shadow palette you'll be wanting to add to your wishlist. Scratch that, don't wishlist it, get it NOW so you have it for your holiday looks!

Here's how I used the Amy Nadine Renewing Nude Eye Shadow Palette to get a pretty fall smoky eye:

1. Apply a smudgeable brown liner to your entire lid and blend in. Next, sweep the darkest shade, Teak, over the liner and up into the crease.

2. Add definition by applying Copper into the crease and blending up and out. Next, dab Carat (the gold shade) lightly on the middle of the lid to add dimensions and apply to the inner corners or eyes.

3. Swipe Mineral (lightest shade) onto brow bone to highlight.

4. Finish by lining top lids with dark brown liner (or black if you prefer), using an eyeliner brush, apply Teak over the liner and to the lower lash line as well, slightly smudging as you apply. Finish the look by coating lashes with your favorite mascara.
