The #JusLife: Jus By Julie Review

#JusLife with A Good Hue

The holidays can be rough on our healthy routines with so many yummy treats, holiday parties and events that sometimes you need to jumpstart it with some better eating and lifestyle decisions. If you've been following this blog for a while, then you'll know that I'm a big fan of juicing (get my DIY juice recipes here and browse through my other juice recipes!) but this week I had the chance to try out Jus By Julie, a Brooklyn-based juicery that offers juices individually and juice cleanses as well. Jus by Julie sent me 5 juice Bottles and several Booster Shots to try, keep reading below for my review on each plus a couple of coupon codes for awesome savings:

Jus By Julie Review

Jus By Julie sent me bottles of Sweet Spin(missing from these images... I had already drank it :P), Spicy Pomegranate, X-Treme Greens, Island Coconut and Chia Berry. All juices (or JUSes) are made from whole, fresh fruits and veggies and are specially blended to retain nutrients and fiber that your body needs to stay healthy.

The JUSes come packed in a cute cooler bag with freezer packs to help keep them fresh during shipping. Once received, you should either drink them right away or freeze them.

Jus By Julie Review

Sweet Spin Juice from Jus By Julie

Sweet Spin is a green juice made from kale, spinach, pineapple, banana, mango and rice milk. It was delicious, sweet and easy to drink, the fruits mask much of the 'green' flavor making this a great juice for someone just starting with juicing and drinking greens.

For a more zesty green blend, X-Treme Greens is packed with kale, spinach, pineapple, orange, hemp seeds, and lime. It's not as sweet as Sweet Spin but it is tasty and has a zesty, citrus punch. I found that this green juice had great balance-- definitely 'green' tasting but the fruits helped to offset it.

Chia Berry Juice from Jus By Julie

Chia Berry was amazingly good, if you're into berry drinks you will love this one. It contains a mix of chia seeds, pomegranate, strawberry and lemon-- loads of antioxidants and tastiness. I almost can't believe something that tastes this good is actually good for you, it will definitely satisfy a sweet craving. Since it is packed with chia, it does have a seedy texture.

Spicy Pomegranate Juice from Jus By Julie

The Spicy Pomegranate was one of my favorites, but I love anything packed with lemon. This one is an energizing blended mix of pomegranate, lemon, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It definitely packs some spiciness but the flavors all go really well together and it was very refreshing. I could drink this all day everyday. With that said, it is a thin juice and is not very filling but makes for a great drink. I'm going to have to try to recreate it so I can have it at home anytime I want!

It's times like these that I really wish I loved coconut, but I could only handle a few sips of the Island Coconut. Made with coconut meat, coconut milk, dates and cinnamon, the coconut flavor is VERY strong. I ended up giving my bottle to a friend who loves anything and everything coconut and she thought it was strong. If you love coconut, this JUS is definitely up your alley but if you're not a huge fan or like me, can only handle a bit, then I suggest going with one of the other creamier juices (Choco-Nana sounds amazing to me!)

Jus By Julie Booster Shots

Jus By Julie also sent me a few Booster Shots to try: Chlorophyll & mint; turmeric, orange & lemon (loved this one!), E3 Live with blue-green algae, apple and lemon (very green/bitter tasting but not too bad); ginger; and ginger citrus (spicy and citrusy- I like!). The Booster Shots are designed as pick-me-ups with strong concentrations of nutrients and each have specific areas they target-- metabolism, immunity, energy, etc. This week, when you buy any 3 Booster shots, you get 3 free with code FREESHOTS6.

I love that there are so many options of juices and so many unique flavors and blends. JUSes are $8 each and Booster Shots are $4, with cleanses starting at $50 for a one-day cleanse (6 juices) and can be purchased directly at Jus By Julie. When you buy 3 Bottles+, you can receive free shipping with code JUSBFREESHIP. I've also seen deals pop up on Groupon for these so be on the lookout!

* I received complimentary juices from Jus By Julie for this review. All opinions are my own, no monetary compensation was provided
