If you've been following along with some of my past beauty posts, you'll remember that I am newly obsessed with BECCA Cosmetics' highlighters. This week, I tried out a new set from the brand, the
Best of BECCA Collection, available at BeautyBridge.com. This collection features five must-haves from BECCA Cosmetics for face, brows and lips: Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, Brow Contour Mousse in Cooca, Low Light/High Light Perfecting Palette, Beach Tint in Watermelon and a Brow/Liner Brush.
Keep reading to find out how I get a perfect, natural contour and well-groomed brows using this set, including my tips for contouring...
After applying my foundation and concealer, I swiped the dark shade in the Low Light/High Light Perfecting Palette in the areas I want to contour. For contouring, I stick with the E3 method, applying the contour shade across me temples, just under my cheekbones, along my jawline and then down the sides of my nose. The formula is creamy and applies easily with your fingers or using a sponge or Beauty Blender. I then took my Beauty Blender and blended the contour in. I then took the High Light shade in the palette and blended onto my cheeks.
To add some color, I applied the Beach Tint in Watermelon to the apples of my cheeks. I'm a huge fan of cream blushes-- I feel they look the most natural and are highly buildable. The beach tint blends in easily and provides a pretty punchy berry shade-- I like that I can apply more to really make my cheeks pop, or keep it light and natural.
To bump up the highlight, I dabbed the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal on cheekbones, around my eye area, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid's bow. I love the soft, yet gorgeous golden highlight this cream provides. The formula is fairly sheer and a little goes a long way-- it's a great product to get a natural luminous glow!
My brows are fairly full already but I usually like to add a little color to darken them and gel to keep them in place. The Brow Contour Mousse is a duo that does both of those in one-- I'm able to use the included brow brush to lightly fill in to define my brows and groom the brows to keep hairs in place-- and then some. There is also a highlighter to use on the brow bone (I use above and below my brows) to help define brows. The highlight shade is a bit too much on the pink side for my skin tone, however I end up applying a shadow highlight over it so it basically just helps to bump up the brow bone highlight.
To finish the look, I applied the Beach Tint to my lips, again applying and building to my desired shade, and then topped with a clear gloss.
The
BECCA Cosmetics Best of BECCA Collection is available at Beauty Bridge for $50. Overall, this kit is another winner from BECCA Cosmetics for me, especially if you are looking for a natural-looking glow or just starting to experiment with contouring and shimmering highlighters.
