Welcome to the first Good HUES-Day linkup of 2017! Before sharing any new outfits, I like to look back on the outfits I've shared from the past year and pick out a few of my favorites and I like to think that my styling has gotten better from past years. Each outfit featured has a unique quality to them-- either a favorite piece, or maybe it was somewhat outside my comfort zone of what I typically wear. For 2017, I hope to do more of the same and maybe even push it a bit more and not play it so safe. Continue reading for some of my top outfits from 2016>>
TBH, I don't quite get all the hate surrounding leggings. They're super comfy, easy to wear and style and you can even find pairs that look like regular pants, such as this pair from Uniqlo. Styled right, you can totally make them work for the office: Get Outfit Details
I just started wearing rompers a couple years ago and I'm pretty much obsessed. I picked this one up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale-- the dark navy and pretty floral design had me hooked! This one also features a pretty tie back detail that gives it an extra kick of personality. I boho'd it up with a fun floppy hat, boots and the cutest maroon fringe bag from Target: Get Outfit Details
One of my all-time favorite tops from this year is this pretty dark green floral blouse I picked up for about $10 at H&M. Green is a color I rarely wear but if it comes in pretty tops like this, I will continue to be all over it. I loved it paired with my favorite pair of grey skinny jeans and some pretty accessories to complete the look: Get Outfit Details
I loved this outfit because it totally strayed from my norm-- neutrals. The bright pops of color and neon were so fun for summer. The best part, I paid under $10 for this dress.
Plus, I had just cut my hair the shortest I have EVER had it and absolutely loved it! Get outfit details
I'm a total sucker for a comfy, cute pair of distressed shorts and these were pretty much my spring/summer staples. I thought I could chic them up a bit with an off-white blouse and oversized sunnies. Perfect for walking around the harbor. Get Outfit Details.
This year, I wanted to choose pieces that were a bit outside my comfort zone and this bright dress is definitely one of them. I typically stick to neutrals, rarely brights and especially not reds, but the moment I saw this dress, I fell in love. The floral print is so pretty, the shape fits me well and the fabric is breezy and cool- perfect for summer or warm fall days. Here, I added some edge to complement the dress' femininity with a leather jacket and my fave pair of booties (can you tell??): Get outfit details.
This final outfit features my most loved pair of jeans from the entire year. I pretty much wear these skinny jeans
once a week-- they are extremely comfortable, fit perfectly and look pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I loved pairing them with these adorable stacked heel sandals- the back detail is exquisite! Get outfit details.
Time to choose, which of these 2016 outfits is your favorite?
