Ah! 2 days in to 2017 and I'm still having a hard time believing 2016 is gone. Gone, but not forgotten, at least not yet. I thought today would be the perfect Makeup Monday to highlight my top beauty favorites from the past year. There's been a lot of beauty products that I tried in 2016, but these are the ones that stood out as favorites for me. Continue reading to get the full scoop on each product and why it's a 2016 winner:
Since landing on my doorstep,
Glossier Balm Dot Com quickly became an everyday staple for my dry, chapped lips. This skin salve & lip treatment adds some much-needed moisture back to my lips and helps to prep them for lip color, keeping my lips from cracking and looking dry, especially when wearing liquid lipsticks.
Speaking of lip color, while I do love me a good liquid lip, my go-to shade this year has been the
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Brink, a soft rosy everyday nude that pairs well with pretty much any makeup look. This matte lippie is long-wearing (some transfer while drinking but not much), is not drying, and very pigmented for full color. Winner!
Another go-to for me this past year has been the
Elizabeth & James Nirvana White fragrance. I love having the rollerball as I can easily take it with me on-the-go. I recently featured the
Nirvana Black in my December favorites as a good nighttime fragrance, but the Nirvana White has been my go-to for the day. It's a soft, feminine floral scent with hints of peony and musk to give it a slight edge. The brand recently released a Nirvana Bourbon that I'm eager to test out as well.
Another winner for face is the
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. This warm bronzer is inflused with Murumuru butter making it incredibly creamy and smooth to apply and blend in. The pigmentation is fantastic and the color it delivers looks amazing on most skin tones-- I can even use it to contour or just add an all-over-glow. The best part? The intoxicating tropical scent!
While the
Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette has been available for several years now, I just got my hands on it earlier this past spring and I haven't been able to stop using it since. I absolutely adore the rose-gold, taupe shades in the palette and the mix of satin, shimmer and matte finishes, there really isn't a shade I dislike. The shadows are all pigmented, blend beautifully and are just straight up gorgeous. If you do not have this palette in your collection, I urge you to pick it up NOW!
I've always been super picky with my mascaras- I typically use volumizing, drier formulas (I cannot stand wet formulas!) and for me, the
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara cannot be beat. This mascara builds up my lashes without clumping or looking like I'm wearing gobs of mascara, and even adds in extra length. I cannot say enough amazing things about this mascara. If you have not yet tried it, you MUST. Ulta Beauty and Sephora stores even offer a smaller trial size so you can test it out before purchasing the full size... although trust me, you will be hooked!
I picked up the
Nars 'Nordstrom's Best' Cheek Palette during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this past summer and I am so glad I did. The palette contains Nars classics such as Afterglow, Deep Throat and Laguna- I love having a mix of pretty blush shades, a bronzer and even a highlighter in one handy palette. The pigmentation of these blushes is on fleek and they blend beautifully across the cheeks as well. Unfortunately the palette sold out fairly quickly during the sale and it not available any longer, however if it or a similar Nars cheek palette is released, I highly recommend you scoop it up right away!

This year I decided to become a Perfectly Posh representative and am so happy I did. I truly love the products-- all of which are made in the good ol' USA, are cruelty-free and are naturally based. My number one product is the
Perfectly Posh Look Natural BFF (Best Face Forever) Exfoliating Daily Face Wash-- not only for myself but it has become a customer favorite as well. This gentle exfoliating face wash features peppermint essential oil (helps with my allergies in the morning!), while grapefruit essential oil helps provide a burst of fresh energy. Microbeads helps to exfoliate dead, dry skin and it is gentle enough to use everyday. I keep this stocked so I never have to go without!
I've been adding more blonde to my hair and color-treating it, along with styling, can leave it dry and damaged. A few months ago, I started using the
Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Luster Lock and you guys. This stuff is a MIRACLE. It leaves me hair super soft, shiny and healthy looking. The formula helps to deeply condition, repair and even protect hair against future damage. Yes, yes, yes!
So there you have it folks, my beauty best from 2016. What are some of your most loved beauty products from 2016? Share in the comments!
