Steve and I recently bought a new bed, one of the cool Sleep Number ones that we can adjust to our personal preferences and it's been so comfy. Like, so comfy in I-don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed-because -it-feels-so-good comfy. One thing that hasn't been feeling, or looking, too good though is my skin. It's been super dry, even flaky in some spots, and my regular moisturizer is just not cutting it. Here's a look at a few skin savers I've been using lately>>
I featured the Caudalie Grape Water
as a monthly beauty favorite and I love it so much I have to talk about it again. The light mist has been my dry skin's saving grace, adding on an extra level of hydration and moisture after I apply moisturizer. My cheeks are always red in the morning due to dry skin and using hot water to wash my face (shhh... I know I shouldn't but a hot shower feels SO good in the cold morning!) and I notice that this water helps to take down some of that redness as well. It is a 100% organic formula that's apparently extracted from grapes in Bordeaux. I feel like the French know a thing or two about wine and skincare so I'll take it.
Psst...You can also use this mist to dampen sponge blenders to give foundation a dewy glow, and to dampen eye shadow brushes to intensify eye shadow.
When all else fails, fake the glow with a radiance-boosting daytime moisturizer such as Pixi Glowtion Day Dew
. This super lightweight cream adds a strobed effect to the skin to boost dull skin, giving it that healthy glow while also blurring, evening out the skin and hydrating. The moisturizer also includes lavender oil to help calm and soothe the skin. Fake it 'til you make it, right?
Making sure my skin stays moisturized throughout the night is also a must for me. Lately I've been using the Perfectly Posh Look Natural Call It a Night Nighttime Facial Oil,
which is a blend of natural oils such as safflower seed, jojoba, rosemary, lime, lavender, and evening primrose, along with botanical extracts like vanilla, olive, pomegranate, and green tea. Together it creates a hydrating oil blend, leaving my skin smooth, soft and moisturized, helping to cut down on the dry skin.
Don't forget about the lips! Every few days I use a lip scrub, such as the Sara Happ The Lip Scrub Vanilla Bean Lip Exfoliator
, followed by an application of The Lip Slip
, making my lips SO soft and smooth! The Lip Slip is incredibly creamy and luxurious glossy balm and is such a treat for my lips. This can even be paired over lipstick for an extra punch of hydration. At night, I don't want to forget about my lips either so I'll use Perfectly Posh Goodnight Kisses Overnight Lip Mask
, which deeply hydrates lips with shea butter, vitamin E, beeswax and coconut oil overnight while you sleep... plus the peppermint oil keeps the mouth area oh-so fresh!
Tell me, are you battling with dry skin as well? Any skin fixes I need to know about? Share!
