You guys, it was over 100 degrees this entire weekend. Like, it was already over 90 degrees at 8am. Insane! I spent the weekend indoors getting this site updated and have finally put the move over to a self-hosted Wordpress blog into process! I'm super excited to make the switch, but also a bit nervous to transfer everything over. I hope you'll all love the updates!
I also sat down to think about some of the beauty and makeup products I loved during June, including a couple I picked up at recent expos. Continue reading to get the scoop on my beauty loves from the past month + enter to win >>
I recently got my hands on the new Smashbox Spotlight Palette
(in Pearl), a collaboration with YouTube'r Casey Holmes. The palette contains a trio of highlighter shades, two of which are shimmers and the third being more of a sparkle. I love the pearly, champagne shades, they're very pretty and apply gorgeously. I am definitely into the first two shades (the pearly yellow and the champagne pink) as they provide a gorgeous subtle glowing highlight and can be built up for a stronger glow. I've been using these shades where I typically highlight- cheekbones, bridge of nose, brow bone and cupids bow. I'll also dab a touch just in the middle of my lids to add dimension- love!
I've been constantly reaching for the Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Vintage Rouge
, which is a pretty peachy coral shade. The formula is extremely creamy and smooth, plus it smells like a tropical vacation! These blushes are available at your local drugstores and mass beauty retailers, but you can find this specific shade is currently only online
or at Walmart. Psst... see how you can win one below!
While I typically use my trust Better Than Sex Mascara, I received a sample size of the Tarte Maneater Voluptuous Mascara
and I have been loving it! While I don't get the volume I get with BTS, I do get some INSANE length with this mascara. I think I'm going to have to get the full-size version, it's that amazing.
Perfectly Posh Beach Blanket Body Scrub
has been my go-to body exfoliator this month. It is naturally based, featuring a mix of sea salt, sugar, coconut shell powder, vitamin E, coconut oil and honey to gently exfoliate removing dead skin and helps to smooth and condition skin. It has a wonderful summery coconut-vanilla & citrus fragrance.
While attending PHAME
last month, I picked up a few Morphe Makeup Brushes
and I've been really impressed with them. The two pictured are from the Elite (E) collection and are synthetic and super soft. They blend in product beautifully and feel like quality brushes-- even though I only paid a few bucks for each. Seriously, a few were as low as $3...the most I spent was $10 for a contour brush! Sometimes you can find Morphe brushes on sale at Hautelook-- keep an eye out for the next deal!
So tell me, what beauty and makeup products have you been loving lately?
